FAQ-
Question: Why do I get weeds in the same spots every year?
Answer : Weeds penetrate into areas because there is not enough competition from other plant life. This may be because the condition of the soil is hostile to the desirable plants and favorable to the weed. For instance: the area may stay wet, or have compacted soil. There is a weed for every circumstance. Other factors influence weed infestation. If a plant bed is allowed to become weedy, seeds and rhizomes will infiltrate the grass near by. Dollarweed can travel fifteen feet in a year. This means that it can keep reinfesting from your neighbors yard or from your own plant beds. This is why it is so important to keep plant beds weeded year round. In the spring and again in the fall, weeds are prominent. This is because grass is growing slow and the weeds get the upper hand. When herbicides are applied to those areas, only the symptom is being treated.  The problem needs to be corrected to keep it from reoccurring.

Question: We have a pest service. Why do we see earwigs, millipedes, and flying  bugs in the house?
Answer :  We call these creatures "Occasional Invaders". From time to time they find their way into your home. Of course, the Flying bugs FLY IN when a door is opened. About the only way to help this is to keep doors closed and if you must leave the porch light on, use a bug light. Light attracts flying bugs. Occasional invaders come in most often when the outside conditions are extreme. Very hot weather and very wet weather move creatures from there normal habitat. They live and breed in the mulch around your home. Certain years bring higher populations of certain bugs. The good news is that most of these insects will not lay eggs in your home and start an infestation. A broom usually takes care of this problem. There are some pest control remedies if they become too numerous or less "occasional".

Question:  My termite company told me my contract could be voided if I had a roof leak. Why does that have anything to do with termites in the ground?
Answer:  Subterranean termites need moisture on a fairly regular basis. They bring it with them in the mud they use to make tunnels in which they travel. They must return to the ground from time to time to replenish the moisture. If a moisture source is found in the house, they do not need to return to the ground to live. If they don't return to the ground to encounter a Termiticide they can live in your house and continue to damage the wood. Roof leaks, condensation in the walls or leaky plumbing can work against the termite treatment.
